“Quickly becoming regarded as the freestyle skiing capital of Europe and one of France's best kept secrets, La Clusaz has more off-piste than you can shake a stick at and is rarely busy. One of the few ski resorts left in the country to maintain its traditional French ways, La Clusaz provides all the facilities you would expect from a modern ski resort. Based in the Haute-Savoie region, it's close enough to drive to neighbouring towns St Gervais and Megève.”
In 2007 we tried La Clusaz but stayed in a satellite village called Manigod. We booked a chalet owned by an English couple which had two apartments which accommodated our group. We had a mixture of too little snow and too much snow during the course of the week.As we had hire cars it was easier that nipping on the ski bus to Le Grand Bornand as it isn't linked by lift although is on the Aravis area pass and a visit via the Col de Aravis pass to Megève - or rather La Giettaz end as the link over was closed due to too much snow.
