“La Thuile, a family resort, gives you access to 150km of piste ranging over the Petit San Bernardo Pass and into France. In a few years' time La Thuile will most probably have much more charm and atmosphere but the continued building and renovating currently visible from every aspect may spoil it for some years to come. That aside, the resort itself punches above its weight. Families and school groups will find it more suitable than party animals, but partying does take place in certain bars."
La Thuile in Italy shares its skiing with La Rosière in France and is often sunny when La Rosière is in the clouds. The link isn't great, sometime closed due to high winds with a mile long drag lift being the first lift over from the other side. However many of the runs are amongst the trees in the lower parts so if it's a whiteout everywhere then there's at least runs that are not exposed to the elements so much.Strangely, the steepest runs are at the bottom and the flat beginner area at the top but overall the area is quite a pleasant ski experience. Those with a car are not too far from Les Arcs.
