The other ski area of Mayrofen, the Ahorn ski region, is well suited for families. It can also offers ideal practice slopes for beginners and children. The 5,5 kilometres -long valley descent (with snow machines) will appeal to very good skiers. One special feature is Ahorn Kinderland, a large childrens playground at an altitude of 2000 metres - somewhere for children to really let off steam in the snow."

/ Eggalm
which is up the valley towards the Hintertux glacier. All areas are linked by free ski
bus. 
2005
Rotaski made the mistake of travelling to Mayrhofen in
the first week of the year when there were two Austrian bank holidays so the
queues were horrendous. The old Penkenbahn 2 stage cable car has been
replaced with an express bubble but there were still queue. On the last day,
we got on the train and went to Kaltenbach
down the valley, only to be met with a bigger queue.On the plus side the Rastkogel area has now been linked in with a 150 person cable car to the main area.
