Pra Loup

"This popular resort in the Alpes de Haute Provence was named after the wolves that once frequented these pine forests. The 167km of piste is shared with neighbouring La Foux d’Allos. The skiing takes place on two main mountains, accessible by cable-car from the top of the village at 1600. Pra-Loup has an extensive range of beginner and intermediate trails, including open-bowl skiing and good tree-line runs with spectacular scenery. The off-piste is extensive (you will need a guide), but there are only five black runs. Weekend queues are said to be ‘fearsome’. The ESF and ESI ski schools are rated as ‘excellent’. Les P’tits Loups day nursery caters for children from six months to six years."

A little short on quaint mountain restaurants and the link to La Foux D'allos is rarely open but there are some good runs for most abilities.
Adrian finally decided to join us after promising to back in 1989. He and 9 others saw Roy perfect the '3 point landing' (2 rear ski tips & 1 arse) from the world's smallest jump. Sam lost about thirteen skis in the week but we reckon she fancied the boot man and both Jo & Cath managed to strain knee ligaments. Still, it meant they could go shopping for pegs as we ran out on the second night.
