Pra Loup has developed into one of the leading ski resort in the Southern Alps since it becoming a tourist attraction in 1961. Although developing dramatically Pra Loup has never neglected to respect the surrounding environment and the nature has stayed almost untouched since the 60's. The scenery around the resort is stunning and will make your skiing experience even more fulfilling.

    The Pra Loup skiing area is actually two mountain resorts linked by the Vallon des Agneliers valley. The skiing suits all levels of skiers and you will have access to 53 lifts and an amazing total of 165 kilometers of prepared pistes. 19 snow cannons along with the usual deep cover of natural snow will make sure that the lifts always are open.

    After you are done skiing for the day you can visit one of the 23 restaurants or go shopping for souvenirs in the many shops.

    One of Pra Loup’s main claims to fame is it’s splendid, unspoilt scenery. The craggy outcrops, larch woods and brilliant sunshine and characteristic of the mountains of Provence. This area has a different atmosphere to the northern Alps and the village in general is more warm and friendly. Pra Loup is now a fairly large village, most of the shops, cafés and bars are located centrally at the foot of the slopes. It’s fairly lively, well equipped and pleasant, with few of the multi-storey blocks or other eyesores one normally associates with purpose built villages. Pra Loup is very convenient and our hotel has a perfect location, right opposite the skating rink.

The Hotel

La Patinoire has a perfect location opposite the ice skating rink, with shops and village attractions all round, and the main Pra Loup gondola less than a 2 min walk in ski boots. The village drags are a few strides further.
This is a three storey building with south facing timber balconies and good sized rooms, mostly 2, 3 or 4 bedded, although there are some larger rooms for 6 or 7. All rooms have full private facilities and the public rooms are excellent. The dining room has large picture windows overlooking the resort and skating rink and there is a well equipped bar with direct access from outside. You can be sure of the warmest hospitality, a well organised après ski programme and good food.
